A young boy is lucky to be alive after being shot during a violent home invasion Brisbane’s south.

The child and his 31-year-old father were inside their Brown Plains home when two men, armed with a gun, forced their way inside just before 8pm.

The boy was shot in the shoulder and was taken to Lady Cilento Hospital and his father, who suffered a graze to his stomach when a bullet was fired at him, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital.
