‘Worst-run organisation in the country’: David Littleproud blasts Telstra ‘giving up’
Telstra has found itself under fire over maintenance of its services in the outback.
The company is paid $270 million a year to maintain its mobile and landline networks in regional areas.
But the National Party claims the telco has turned its back on the bush.
“They just simply have given up,” Deputy Leader David Littleproud told Neil Breen. “It’s the worst-run organisation in the country.”
“I’ve got people in my own electorate where … they’ve had accidents, they’ve had to get neighbours or one of their loved ones to drive to the next property because their landline has been out for months.
“That is unacceptable in this day and age; it is a universal service.”
