World Cup: Socceroos through to knockout stages after epic upset
The Socceroos have defied the odds, advancing to the last 16 at the FIFA World Cup.
Australia upset world number 10 Denmark 1-nil in their final group stage match.
Veteran winger Matthew Leckie scored the winner in the 60th minute.
It is the first time the Socceroos have won two matches at a World Cup tournament.
They will take on either Argentina, Poland or Saudi Arabia in the knockout round.
One of the longest serving Socceroos’, Paul Wade, was ecstatic this morning when he spoke to Laurel, Gary & Mark!
“Gee they bring great joy – sport does that, doesn’t it?”
