Police have charged a woman after she allegedly stabbed a man in a domestic violence attack on the Gold Coast. 

Officers were called to a disturbance last night at a Guanaba home around 10pm, where they found a 54-year-old man with stab wounds to his neck.

He was transported to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 53-year-old woman, who was known to the man, has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was denied police bail and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
