Outspoken entrepreneur Dick Smith held back tears as he announced the closure of his much loved Australian made and owned food company.

Dick Smith Foods has thirteen products gracing the shelves of Woolies and Coles…including sandwich spreads, tomato sauce and cereals.  

All will be phased out over the coming months…with Dick Smith blaming German grocery giant, Aldi’s “extreme capitalism” for the demise of his food company.

Warren Moore spoke with Managing Director of Marketing Focus Barry Urquhart to look further at the shifting landscape of the Australian retail industry.
