Passengers say they were terrified after a fight erupted between two passengers on a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to Brisbane, forcing the plane to turn around.

Footage shows two men repeatedly throwing punches at each other on-board the plane on Tuesday night as passengers and crew were trying to intervene.

Today show reporter Mia Glover said it was confronting for passengers on board.

It’s understood it started after one of the passengers started kicking the seat in front.

“It was 24 minutes into the fight, they started throwing punches at each other, you can see in the vision that we have got it’s blow after blow,” she told Laurel, Gary and Mark.

Australian Federal Police met the aircraft and escorted the pair from the flight, once it landed back in Melbourne.
