There’s no end in sight for south-east Queensland’s record-high fuel prices. 

The average price for unleaded in Brisbane is 190 cents per litre.

Compare the Market’s Sarah Orr has told Sophie Formica prices may drop but not for very long.

“Even when we reach the bottom of this cycle, because of those pressures with Russia and Ukraine, … instead of dipping lower, the average could fall to $1.70 a litre before surging up again.

“We could see that dreaded $2 figure crack if things don’t improve.”
