Panic buying has been ruled out as the cause for empty shelves amid south-east Queensland’s flood disaster. 

Woolworths reintroduced a product limits for a number of items on Monday in response to the shortage.

Woolworths General Manager for Team Enablement Ross Spencer told Neil Breen it’s entirely a supply issue.

“We’ve activated our contingency plan, we’re bringing up product from all available alternative routes,” he said.

“It is due to those real complex issues with a number of key transport links being flooded.”
