A new campaign is fighting back against comparison websites driving the cost of living upwards. 

The Great Australian Rip Off says upfront and trailing commissions have forced businesses to increase their prices. 

“The campaign is to expose the secret commissions that are paid to comparison sites,” campaign spokesperson Trond Smith told Neil Breen. 

“All the commercial comparison sites all charge significant commissions, which are pushing up the prices of our services.

“Insurance giants – Suncorp, Bupa, Allianz – they’ve all said these commissions can’t be absorbed … and they’re passed on as high premiums.”
