Why Brisbane’s liveability is under threat in the next decade

neil breen

Neil Breen says the liveability of Brisbane should be front of mind in the lead-up to the 2032 Games.

Learning the full extent of the Gabba knock-down and rebuild project shows  create traffic chaos and endless months of construction and disruption, he says.

At the same time, the Brisbane Live stadium is being constructed over the river at Roma Street.

“I don’t care what anyone says … the CBD’s been like a sewer for the last couple of years.

“It is not enjoyable to go to, it’s not, the construction and everything.”

He says no one has mentioned Brisbane’s liveability in the next 10 years.

“I am trying not to be negative here, but I can only see a nightmare scenario.”
