Why a youth crime protester left parliament in tears today

Brisbane grandmother Julie West, who started the Emma’s Law petition in memory of a North Lakes mother who died in an alleged home invasion, was at the sitting.

“I left, I’ve deleted the petition, I’ve deleted all my Facebook sites,” she told 4BC Afternoons, fighting back tears. “I’m upset, Sofie.”
