Why a quarter of property managers plan to ditch their jobs

Carla Bignasca

More than half of real estate agents are struggling with abuse and aggression, worrisome new data has found.

Research published in the Voice of the Property Manager report shows 60 per cent of real estate agents are copping regular serves and 53 per cent are struggling with their mental health.

The conditions have led to around one in four agents planning to leave the industry entirely.

Report author Kylie Davis told Sofie Formica it’s concerning to see such a high number planning to ditch the job.

“The majority of property managers are young women in their early thirties or younger,” she said.

“A lot of them don’t always have the social skills or the confidence to deal with people when they’re being very aggressive with them.”
