Who could take over from outgoing Bulldogs coach Trent Barrett
Paul Vautin and Peter Psaltis say there’s a coaching duo who could take over from outgoing Canterbury coach Trent Barrett, who quit after a loss to the Knights.
The loss in the Magic Round means the Bulldogs have fallen to the bottom of the ladder.
Vautin said in 10 rounds, the team have scored just 96 points.
He says Barrett was under immense pressure from the former powerhouse club and he hoped he wouldn’t be lost to rugby league.
Both hosts agreed Ben and Shane Walker would be an excellent appointment, and it was time to give them a go in the NRL.
“I rang Gus [Canterbury football boss Gus Gould] this morning, I said mate, have I got some coaches for you,” Vautin said.
Psalty said it would be brave, but there’s nothing to lose.
