Article image for Where Are They Now? Steve Walters
One of a number of talented brothers, Steve was the last to play representative football, but arguably the best. He was regarded by many as the greatest hooker in the pre-Cameron Smith era.
Affectionately known as “Boxhead”, Walters played 272 games for the Raiders, Cowboys and Knights. He played 14 Origin games for Queensland, 16 tests for Australia and won premierships in 1989, 1990 and 1994.
In 2008, Walters was inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame.
