New Dolphins recruit Tom Gilbert has reflected on the way his style on the field has changed in recent years.

The 22-year-old says he’s learning to focus his attention on what he can control rather than the opposition.

“I’ve probably learned it is a career, and it is a journey and it’s something that I don’t think it’s always going to be right even when you are playing well there are things you can always work on,” he told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports.

“I think accepting that and accepting what you can control.

“I decided I was going to use my anger in an effective way and my passion in a way that’s effective for the team.”
