Olympic gold medallist Duncan Armstrong is among the Sunshine Coast community campaigning for the region ahead of the 2032 Olympics.

Mr Armstrong has joined the Sunshine Coast 2032 taskforce to rally for development and infrastructure for the Games.

He says it’s a very long conversation for 10 years.

The Sunshine Coast will host marathon, football, road-walking and mountain biking.

There will also be an athletes village.

“As you travel around the Games, we’ve got to get people in and out of  the Sunshine Coast, heavy rail is essential there’s huge infrastructure projects,” he told Neil Breen on Brisbane Live.
