Small businesses in Victoria that ask customers to check in with QR codes and wear masks are being subject to scathing online reviews.

Prominent media lawyer John-Paul Cashen told Deborah Knight businesses can sue for defamation.

“If you post a negative review, then you’re responsible for it and the laws of defamation apply to you.”
