The 2022 floods will be memorable for a different reason for one Sherwood couple, who welcomed their new bub in the most momentous way.

A heavily pregnant Felicity Jacques had been staying with her partner, Alex, and his parents at Toowong when floodwaters rose on Saturday.

Mr Jacques told Neil Breen they got nervous when power went out on Monday afternoon.

“We actually contacted the SES and they came … and got us evacuated by boat,” he said.

“A few short hours later, … we were heading into the Mater Mothers’ with Felicity in labour!”
