Golf legend Karrie Webb and four-time Olympic Games softball medallist Tanya Harding are among nine new inductees into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

The induction will see the athletes’ names added to an honour roll of the nation’s biggest sporting names.

It’s a fitting recognition for Webb, who won 41 times on the LPGA tour and five Women’s Australian Opens.

“It’s never something that you set your sights on,” she told Neil Breen.

“So when you get the call, it’s very, very special to add your name to the list of such a great bunch of Aussies that have flown the Aussie flag so well for so many years.”

Harding told Peter Psaltis it’s an extremely proud moment.

“I was quite taken aback,” she said. “I had to pinch myself first!”

George Bedbrook, Catherine Cox, Brad Fittler, Cara Honeychurch, Adrian Hurley, Chris Judd and Mark Webber have also been announced as inductees.
