Weather warning: QLD could cop another ‘flooding rain’ event next week
Queenslanders are being warned the Sunshine State could cop another huge rainfall event, with predictions of “flooding rain” just two months on from the state’s devastating flood event.
There’s predictions of widespread rain next week, starting early in the week.
“There is another rainfall event set to unfold over a large part of our state for next week, and we are talking the possibility of flooding rain again,” Nine News weatherman Garry Youngberry said on 4BC Drive.
“We’ll see several days of heavy rain, but at this point, this low is a lot larger than the one that produced the last flooding rain, but it does cover a larger part of the state, anywhere from Cairns to Coolangatta.”
He says some of the modelling shows over a 10-day period, some parts could cop half to one metre of rain.
