WATCH | Truck forced to slam on brakes due to 40km/h emergency vehicle rule

Dashcam footage has emerged showing how the 40km/h slow down rule affects truck drivers on the highway.
A truck driver has had to quickly slow down to almost half his speed after seeing flashing police lights as he rounded a bend.
The rule was introduced six months ago, instructing motorists to slow down to 40km/h when passing stationary emergency vehicles with their lights flashing.

This is how it looks from my chair! I’m doing nothing illegal. I’m unsighted by the truck in the left lane. It’s a constant radius left curve. This is a bad law and the trial should be scrapped in my opinion. pic.twitter.com/BIDPwNQZ5P
