Police have carried out a dramatic arrest aboard a train at Central Station in the Brisbane CBD. 

Officers had been searching for an 18-year-old man who allegedly robbed a Nundah grocery store on Friday, armed with a sawed-off shotgun.

He allegedly fled and boarded a train at a nearby station but was tracked down on a train bound for the Gold Coast.

The Logan man has been charged with armed robbery and possession of a shortened firearm.

He appeared briefly in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 23 and was remanded in custody, to reappear in September.
