Warnings to stay out of the water amid ‘treacherous’ conditions

Gary Hardgrave

There are warnings of wild weather for some parts of south-east Queensland in the coming days, with Gold Coast beaches closed due to dangerous surf and weather conditions.

There are warnings in place for Friday and Saturday,

Surf report guru Johnny Charlton has warned not to surf or take the boat out on the bay tomorrow with treacherous conditions on the way.

“Really messy and sloppy …  there will be some erosion,” he told Peter Fegan on Brisbane Live.

“Just stay away from the water wherever you are.”

He says he predicts many beaches will be closed, with the exception of Noosa and Mooloolaba.

“For the next three days it’s just not safe, if you are not experienced as a surfer don’t even go out there.”
