Flood-impacted communities across Queensland are being targeted by clever crooks posing as government agencies, insurers or even charities.

There’s a renewed warning for people to be vigilant.

Business Australia’s general manager of products, Phil Parisis, said some criminals have their finger on the pulse.

“Unfortunately the way they are getting to us, is posing as government departments, insurance payouts and even charity drivers, they are acting like they are the good guys and that you should open this email and complete the forms, and you will get your money,” he told Scott Emerson.

He said people are being targeted at their most vulnerable.
