Medibank confirmed earlier today that a hacker had accessed the data of 3.9 million customers, following the recent breach.

Neil Breen spoke to Nigel Phair from the UNSW Institute of Cyber Security about the incident.

The technology expert said that that data breaches will continue to happen “until corporate Australia wake up and realise what it means… to retain information.”

Nigel also stressed the importance of being vigilant.

He recommended to keep an eye on your phone, email and bank statements for any unusual activity.
