The United Nations has approved a resolution calling for Russia to end its war in Ukraine.

141 of the 193 members of the General Assembly voted in favour of the non-binding agreement.

They’re calling for “just and lasting peace” in the region.

It comes as experts warn of more death and destruction as the winter weather improves.

International affairs commentator Keith Suter told Laurel, Gary & Mark Vladimir Putin thought last year’s invasion would be quick and clean.

“He’s been surprised at the resistance by the Ukrainian people and also the amount of assistance they’ve been getting from other countries, particularly the Western countries.

“It’s amazing, we were writing America off a couple of years ago but now, America’s bouncing back as the leader of the free world.”
