Parents are being urged to check in with their children amid the emergence of an underground “fight club” culture in Queensland schools.

Students are using violence to gain notoriety on social media, with footage of brawls on school grounds uploaded to TikTok and Instagram in recent weeks.

But the Queensland Teachers’ Union is playing the incidents down, with its president, Cresta Richardson telling Sofie Formica fights have been happening in schools for some time.
