An NHS frontline worker says the health system is struggling under the sharp increase of coronavirus cases.

Over 100,000 COVID cases are now being recorded in the UK.

NHS Physician Dr Veer Pushpak Gupta told Chris Smith while the virus is less severe than Delta, is more transmissible.

“We’ve seen not as many respiratory symptoms with Omicron.

“But if it affects a significant amount of population that fast it has the ability to overwhelm the health system.

“The NHS at the moment is struggling.”
