Three years on from the horrors of October 7, Michael McLaren speaks movingly about how deeply the current of anti-Semitism runs in some quarters in contemporary Australia and the corrosive impact it is having on our Jewish citizens, our community and our freedoms.
As the next phase of insensitivity is scheduled to take place with so-called pro-Palestinian vigils tonight, Michael has spoken about the importance of constantly debating and considering what Australia, as a liberal, democratic, free-speech-inclined society, should do when we have people among us who feel empowered to take advantage of those very freedoms and co-opt them in the most distasteful, yet legal, of ways, causing unjustifiable, inexcusable hurt to fellow citizens?
