Toombul’s key bus interchange to reopen in matter of days

Toombul’s key bus interchange will reopen in just days after February’s floods took the infrastructure offline for months.
Mirvac has controversially decided to end all leases in its Nundah centre and redevelop, citing damages caused by February’s floods.
The decision also shut down Translink’s Toombul Shopping Centre interchange, which was situated on Mirvac-owned land.
A temporary bus stop has been set up around the corner but a lack of basic amenities meant a stronger resolution was needed.
Civic Cabinet Chair of Transport Ryan Murphy last week said property developer Mirvac was negotiating with Council for a solution.
In a major win for the community, Councillor Adam Allan this morning revealed to Neil Breen services will return to the interchange from Monday.
“We’ve been working with Mirvac over a number of weeks to trying to get the centre up and running again,” he said.
“We will be reopening that hub on Monday, June 6, so this coming Monday.
“That’s a great outcome for the community.”
