A family of three has died in a house fire in Brisbane’s north this morning.

At about 5.40am, residents of Pavonia Street at Everton Hills were awoken by a loud explosion.

By the time firefighters arrived the home was engulfed by flames.

Neighbours reportedly heard screams for help with emergency services eventually finding the bodies of three people, two men and a woman.

Nearby houses have been evacuated as a precaution.

Crime and Forensic Investigators are on the scene with police treating the blaze as suspicious.

Detectives are investigating the belief that a 24-year-old man killed his parents in a double murder-suicide.
