Thieves steal family’s Christmas presents, car in alleged robbery
A Queensland family has had their Christmas turned upside down after their car and presents, was stolen in a brazen robbery.
Townsville resident Ashley Weber woke last Tuesday morning to find her brand new 2022 Mitsubishi Pajero had been stolen by thieves who allegedly used vice grips to break into her garage.
She told Jason Dasey on 4BC Summer Drive the car was discovered badly damaged hours later but the family’s Christmas presents and phones were gone.
“There [were] two bongs in it, there was bong water all throughout, there was glass, there was tools, shoes, jewellery and everything in there of theirs,” she said.
“None of the presents have been found, … none of my phones.”
Ms Weber said around a dozen teenagers were arrested today after a spate of car thefts in the last week.
After hearing about Ms Weber’s difficult week, Jason was happy to return a little bit of Christmas cheer to the family.
