Brisbane Airport will be a hive of activity throughout the day as more flights touch down.

The first flights from Melbourne and Sydney have already landed, carrying passengers set to be reunited with their families.

Brisbane Airport CEO Gert-Jan De Graaff told Spencer Howson there’s dozens of flights to pass through today.

“Today, [there will be] 32 flights between Brisbane and Sydney and 32 fights between Brisbane and Melbourne.

“Last week, we had about 650 people travelling between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

“Today, that’s about 10 times those numbers.”
