The Federal Court has published its reasons for dismissing an appeal of Novak Djokovic’s second visa cancellation.

A panel of three judges concluded the Immigration Minister Alex Hawke’s decision to deport the tennis world number one could not be considered irrational or illogical.

The statement of reasons says Alex Hawke has the power to cancel a visa to protect public health.

“For the first time, we can tell you the details of Immigration Minister Alex Hawke’s consideration of Novak’s visa situation and why his right to be here was cancelled – which came in the form of a 10 page dossier,” Scott Emerson said.
