A teenage boy is fighting for life in hospital after being shot in the chest overnight. 

Police say the 17-year-old presented to Logan Hospital in the early hours of this morning with a gunshot wound to his chest.

He has since been transferred to a hospital in Brisbane, where he remains in a critical condition.

An investigation has been launched to establish how and where the boy was shot.
