There’s been numerous headlines reporting a “great resignation” as workers seek out new career paths after the pandemic.

But a friend of 4BC Breakfast, former news cameraman Mark ‘Sluggo’ Deadman’s massive career shift piqued the interest of Laurel, Gary and Mark this morning!

He retired as a cameraman in June, and turned 60 in July.

He’s in training for a completely different gig, after a “serendipitous” moment!

“I like to say ‘mid-life crisis’ rather than later in life,” he said this morning.

“I thought, I’ve got probably got 5 or 6 or 7 years of work life left in me, so I just wanted a new challenge, I wanted to stretch myself.”
