The inspiring Queenslander who became a world champion in extreme racing

wide world of sports

Queenslander Amber Scriven has a truly incredible story.

In September she packed her bags and headed to Texas, where she competed in the EXCA Championships (Extreme Racing Cowboy Racing Championships).

She was named the overall world champion and international champion.

Early in her life she experienced some health battles including a severe head injury at age 9, and she was told she’d never ride again.

“I think I am a stronger person because of what happened to me, and I just really want to show people that,” she told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports on Wednesday night.
