Thirty-five years ago, 11-year-old Wendy visited Brisbane’s World Expo 88, and signed up to find a pen pal on the other side of the world.

She recalls putting her details into a machine and hoping to connect with someone her age.

Wendy had forgotten about it until she received a letter from a girl in London.

All these years later, Wendy and her British pen pal, Anna, have remarkably stayed in touch.

“End of last year, she said my partner and I are thinking of moving to Australia,” Wendy said.

And now Wendy is enlisting the help of 4BC listeners on how best to sell Brisbane when her British friend comes to visit in August, to scope out a move to the river city.

She spoke to Neil Breen about what she has in mind, to show off Brisbane!
