A self-proclaimed sun safety devotee is calling on local governments to boost accessibility of sunscreen for their constituents.

After Kris McGhee sustained a severe sunburn during a sunny June day in 2014, he got to thinking on a way his situation could’ve been avoided.

The result was a sunscreen-dispensing kiosk, which can be installed everywhere from schools to beaches or sporting clubs.

Now, he wants to see more councils getting onboard.

“We do have a passion to ensure we try and get as many of these across Australia as possible,” he told Sofie Formica.

“We have them in every single state and territory across Australia at the moment, but we really need to start to look and get some help from local councils to be able to place these kiosks on beaches, through national parks.”
