Queensland power prices are through the roof and with winter on the way, Neil Breen is concerned for vulnerable Queenslanders.

Brisbane had the biggest cost of living increases in the nation; electricity prices increased 32.5% in the March quarter alone.

Neil Breen believes “people are going to start panicking about power prices, particularly the pensioners and the vulnerable”.

“We can’t have pensioners in the suburbs of Brisbane freezing through winter, petrified to turn the heater on because of the cost of power”.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk pledged today that last year’s energy rebates will be approved upon.

But Neil Breen thinks the government should be looking at the rate Australia is selling coal to India.
