A pool of replacement players will be parachuted into the Big Bash League bubble in case COVID-19 continues to rip through teams.

Officials have signed extra players to act as replacements for one or more teams should extra numbers be needed.

“You could be playing for the Perth Scorchers one day and then a few days later, the Adelaide Strikers and then the Brisbane Heat,” Peter Psaltis told Neil Breen.

“One of those players that was placed in the pool for instance was Lachie Pfeffer, who scored that half-century for the Heat on Saturday.”
