A teenage boy has been arrested following a suspicious death on the Sunshine Coast.

Police say the 17-year-old got into an altercation with another teenage boy outside a home at Buddina last night.

Emergency services were called to the scene and were unable to save the 16-year-old, who was allegedly seriously wounded.

The 17-year-old has been taken into custody and is now assisting police.
