Teen among trio charged over alleged fast food outlet robberies

Three people have been charged with 81 offences after a major investigation into the alleged armed robbery of four fast food restaurants last week.
Police will allege the group first targeted a Hungry Jack’s in Springfield on January 15, armed with a firearm and knives.
They allegedly went on to hold up a McDonald’s in Rocklea and two more Hungry Jack’s restaurants in Salisbury and Algester, all within 30 minutes the next night.
Officers yesterday morning executed simultaneous search warrants at Michael Street in Ellen Grove and Swallow Street in Inala, arresting three people without incident.
A 29-year-old Mansfield man, 21-year-old Ellen Grove man and 18-year-old Ellen Grove woman have been charged with 81 offences, including armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.
They were each denied bail and will appear in court today.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said the arrests were the result of tireless collaboration between the Upper Mount Gravatt, Acacia Ridge and Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branches.
“Dozens of detectives have worked around the clock to bring this matter before the courts and their thoughts remain with the young victims who continue to be offered support,” he said.
“I continue to appeal to the public to come forward with information that could assist police as investigations into these matters remain ongoing.
“No piece of the puzzle is too small and anonymous reports can be made via Crime Stoppers [on] 1800 333 000.”
