Tanya Plibersek says Australians are being held to ransom over the pushback on the net zero emission target.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed talks are underway on the climate policy but he is facing a difficult road ahead with some in the Nationals.

The Shadow Minister for Women and Education says there are 2 million Australians with solar panels on their roofs,

“We actually want the benefits of cheaper, cleaner renewable energy, solar is the cheapest form of electricity in history,” she told Scott Emerson.

“People who don’t want that should just get out of the way so the majority of us can see our energy bills come down.”

She said it was “gobsmacking” Australia was on its 22nd energy policy since the Liberals have been in power

“It’s a minority of people holding the majority of Australians to ransom.”
