Take me to The Church: Legendary Aussie rock band back in action
Legendary Australian rock band The Church is back in action, ready to perform their album Starfish along with an array of their greatest hits.
30 years since their iconic song ‘Under the Milky Way’ was released, they’re back on the road with their tour An Evening with The Church.
Two of the band’s four members, Steve Kilbey and Tim Powles, join Deborah Knight to tell listeners what’s to come.
Tim tells Deborah they’ll do Starfish in its entirety.
“Then we’ll have an intermission and we’ll come back and we’ll play our regular set, old and new.”
But when it comes to which songs do and don’t make the cut, Tim says not every band member was on the same page.
“It’s true once we were having a week to learn our set and four of those days were spent arguing (about what to put in the set).”
