Son charged over the alleged murder of Gold Coast mum
The estranged son of Gold Coast woman Wendy Sleeman will face court today, charged with her murder.
Ms Sleeman’s body was found in the boot of her car, parked in the garage of a Windsor unit block the day after her 30-year-old son, Slade Murdok, was arrested in Brisbane.
She had raised the alarm from her Elanora home days prior, reporting a break and enter to police.
But when officers arrived 30 minutes later, she was missing.
Murdok faced court on other charges last Thursday, including unlawful stalking, burglary, assault occasioning bodily harm, kidnapping, attempted arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Ms Sleeman’s brother, Mike, and sister, Meg, have released a statement, describing her as gentle, funny and caring.
In lieu of leaving flowers, they’ve asked the community to donate to the Labrador Retriever Club of Queensland or Rosies.
