‘Slashing population is one thing’ – But improving productivity is the key
Michael McLaren has urged the major parties and One Nation to really consider their policies, as he points out that the economy and productivity need more than reducing immigration.
The Afternoons host has pointed to Canada, who were in a similar position with immigration, but has failed to improve employment and prevent a recession.
“Slashing migration numbers is one thing – and comes with benefits… but we’ll all be better off if we can do it whilst growing the pie at the same time,” he said.
“And the party that nails it will be the one that gets my vote,” he added.
