Guide Dogs New South Wales is warning share bikes left on footpaths, or against poles, are putting the vision impaired and their guide dogs at risk.

The dogs are trained to navigate their handler to street poles, but don’t know what to do if they encounter bikes in their path.

“People might be thinking they’re doing the right thing by propping them up against a building or against a wall, but that is the path someone needs to use when they can’t see.

“They need that straight line, we need to keep people safe as they’re moving along the footpath.”
