Police say the major search operation for missing Victorian teen Krystal Cain, who went missing in floodwaters on January 8, will be scaled back.

A large-scale search operation for 14-year-old Krystal Cain caught in floodwaters at Booubyjan during the early hours of Saturday, January 8, will be scaled back.

The 14-year-old was caught in floodwaters at Booubyjan.

Her father was found alive, clinging to a tree.

Police had been coordinating an air, land and water search for Krystal near the Burnett Highway and Murgon Gayndah roads.

In a statement, Queensland police said there had a thorough examination over the last 13 days with police divers, officers on foot, horseback, drones and search crews unable to find any sign of Krystal.

“Human Remains Detection Dogs and specialised search officers have also joined the search this week and drones will be continued to be used within the 10km radius where she was last seen,” the statement read.

“Krystal was a compassionate, bright and bubbly girl who loved art and English at school. She was a fantastic sketcher and had a love of music.”

Police thanked everyone who helped in the search efforts.
