Scott Morrison ‘lost his cool’ on cost of living ‘battleground’

Neil Breen comments

The Coalition is feeling the heat over the rising cost of living as ministers argue they’re best-placed to keep prices down.

Neil Breen says the Prime Minister “lost his cool” for the first time on the election campaign ahead of a tipped interest rate jump today.

Scott Morrison is urging people not to politicise any rate increase, arguing it would be from a record low of .1 per cent.

“No matter what he says, no matter what the worldwide circumstances are, none of those things matter in the eyes of the Australian people,” Breenie said.

“Those factors will matter little in the eyes of many Australians who are battling to pay their mortgages and pay their grocery bills.

“This is the battleground of Election 2022.”

Money News host Brooke Corte told Neil Breen while some people are tipping an interest rate hike will be delayed, it’s unlikely.

“If the RBA does not hike today, Neil, I think that should be seen as a highly political decision from a supposedly independent Reserve Bank.

“Election or not, the economy is extremely strong at the moment and we have the proof in those inflation figures, which came out last week.

“0.1 per cent interest rates are totally inappropriate now.”
